Thanks, sleep tight! If ever you’d like to offer them, I’d love your thoughts on this piece and to know if my interpretation (of the Vedanta view) is correct. I’m mostly self taught, aside from some formal meditation training. Oh and I saw that you subscribed to Everyday Behaviorist (thank you!) but this essay is from my publication called Operant Spirituality, which contains my musings on how Eastern Spiritual views fit with behaviorist ones (idk where I’m going with this publication; just had some thoughts I’d been wanting to put to words for years, so I made a separate space for them.) thanks for reading and any thoughts you have!
This is a wonderful essay Jennifer. It's really speaking to me. You've explained this concept exceptionally well here, and it's helped me to clarify or put some of my own thoughts into words. I especially love the The Upanishads story in the beginning. And I was happy that after I'd read it to my Sweetheart and explained how I understood it's meaning, my interpretation matched the Vedanta meaning. We'll definitely have to discuss this further!
Thanks so much, MJ, for reading and for finding it helpful!! I’m glad it clarified some things. I feel like I’ve benefitted from others’ aha moments — that’s what the gurus share, and others — and this publication is me trying to share some of those I’ve had (at least I think so). I really like that story, too. Would love to discuss further!! 🙏
Love this…
Hi Jennifer. I’ll be coming back to read this again as it’s late in the eve here. Love that you are interested in Vedanta 🤍🤍
